This guide provides an overview of nonprofit resources offered at CLP that will help aid in starting a 501(c)(3), grant searching and proposal writing

Welcome to the Nonprofit Resource Center at Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh! 

Our main collection is housed at Main Library, at 4400 Forbes Avenue, on the Second Floor. Most of our digital resources can be accessed without an appointment by visiting any location. Click on the tabs above to explore curated resources on different topics.

Nonprofit Services at CLP

CLP offers a variety of classes on different nonprofit related topics, including whether starting a nonprofit is right for you, finding grants, proposal writing, different types of giving, project budgets, fundraising planning, and the Candid databases Foundation Directory and Guidestar.

New! Join us for WORKshop: Nonprofit, a biweekly drop-in program to offer additional nonprofit research support. Connect with other organizations at Nonprofit Networking, a monthly drop-in event.

CLP offers 1:1 appointments for those who are looking to dig deeper into the Nonprofit Resources offered at the library. We also have 1:1 appointments specifically for those who want to learn how to use Foundation Directory, a database which provides information about grantmakers.

This workshop is presented by Eartha Sewell, who has focused her 40 year career in Social Services working with residents and community-based agencies. Eartha developed and implemented programs, created staff trainings and wrote grants for local and national organizations.
