The resources listed below are some organizations and services that provide free or low-cost resources to individuals who are immigrants or refugees to our region.  

Due to the uncertainty of funding, staffing, volunteer support, and other factors, CLP cannot guarantee the continual availability of any of the services listed below, although we will regularly update the information provided. This list is a guide to assist in finding resources and does not indicate endorsement of or partnership with any service or organization listed.

East Liberty Family Health Center  

East Liberty Family Health Center provides medical and behavioral health services and social services. They provide language assistance services free of charge for people with limited English proficiency and effective communication for individuals with disabilities. You can find more information here

Immigrant Services and Connections (ISAC) 

ISAC is a multi-partner program that connects immigrants living in Allegheny County with resources. ISAC is implemented by a collaboration of immigrant-serving agencies: Jewish Family and Community Services (JFCS Pittsburgh), Casa San Jose (a program of the Sisters of St. Joseph), Literacy Pittsburgh, Family and Immigrant Connections of the Allegheny Intermediate Unit (AIU3), South Hills Interfaith Movement (SHIM), Bhutanese Community Association of Pittsburgh (BCAP), AJAPO and Pittsburgh Hispanic Development Corporation (PHDC). You can see office hours and locations here.

Literacy Pittsburgh  

Literacy Pittsburgh provides free ESL classes, including education on American culture, for adults and families in Allegheny and Beaver Counties. Literacy Pittsburgh also preps students for the GED, helps improve reading, math, digital literacy and workplace skills.  You can find further information here.

Squirrel Hill Health Center  

The Squirrel Hill Health Center is a participating provider with PA’s Office of Refugee Resettlement. They provide services to all patients regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. They orient newly arriving populations to health care in Pittsburgh and other social service agencies to support immigrants and internationals in our region.
