Listed below are some organizations and programs that provide access to income -based housing in Allegheny County.

Action Housing 

Action Housing is a non-profit that manages and facilitates housing and social service coordination for underserved populations, focusing on senior citizens, veterans, individuals with physical and/or intellectual disabilities, individuals on the autism spectrum, and youth who have aged out of foster care. Allegheny Link  

Allegheny Link provides a centralized intake system for all housing programs throughout the county. Place a call to speak with a service coordinator – there is often a hold time, so be sure to call when you have some time. You can be placed on the wait list for multiple housing programs with just one phone call. You can also walk-in to the location or reach out by email. You can find further information here.

Allegheny County Housing Authority  

The Allegheny County Housing Authority maintains 19 housing communities throughout Pittsburgh and provides Section 8 vouchers to eligible residents. You can find further information here.

The City of McKeesport Housing Authority  

The City of McKeesport Housing Authority provides public housing in the City of McKeesport as well as administers a Section 8 voucher program. You can find further information here.

The City of Pittsburgh Housing Authority operates 11 different public housing facilities throughout Pittsburgh and provides Section 8 vouchers to eligible residents. You can find further information here.

Neighbor Works provides credit counseling and financial literacy programming. Offers education and coaching services focused on first time and sustainable home ownership. You can find further information here.

H.U.D. sponsors housing counseling agencies throughout the country who provide free or low-cost advice. Fair Housing Partnership of Greater Pittsburgh  

If you feel that you have been a victim of housing discrimination based on a protected class, contact us. We offer free advocacy and representation for a Fair Housing Complaint, including filing either an administrative or court case, negotiation or settlement. We off advocacy for people with disabilities who need a reasonable accommodation and/or modification to their housing because of their disability. You can find further information here.
